Watch this space for Knit Michigan 2008
Update and photos.
We expect more accurate figures to be available in two to three
weeks (late February), but until that time we are comfortable
reporting that together we raised at least $25,000, our attendance
was up nearly 50% over 2007 and we are approaching 1,000
chemo caps collected. Because there are so many chemo caps, we
will be able to donate them to more cancer centers around the state.
Erica Owens was the top marathon contributor and even garnered a
story in the Kalamazoo Gazette on 2/2/08 . Through a series of
fundraisers, knit-ins and business contributions, Erica raised over
$4,000 and collected more than 600 chemo caps.
More than 500 individuals participated in some way at Knit
Michigan: as marathoners, volunteers including a large group from
Gilda's Club, or daytime visitors enjoying the learning centers and
market.
Thank you to all!
